Welcome
Dr. Barry M. Rodwick, M. D. specializes in treating HIV and AIDS, and all associated opportunistic infections, since 1992. We also treat several other conditions, including Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, and Gender Identity Disorder. Dr. Rodwick and the staff of Health Positive (Mona, Tiffany, and Donna) strive to guide patients through their health issues, and by education and recommendations, assist patients in an individualized treatment plan to try to optimize their health.
We are always willing to collaborate with case managers, pharmacists, other physicians, counselors, home health agencies, and providers of complimentary therapies.
Our Patients
In the last year, we have treated:
Over 700 patients with HIV
100-125 transgendered patients
75 patients with neither of the above - but are often our patients' significant others, family members, and friends.
Prescriptions and Refills
PRESCRIPTIONS: The office uses an electronic prescription system that communicates directly with your pharmacy. (There are a few categories of prescriptions that have to be printed, hand-signed, and faxed or mailed).
REFILLS: Refills are best managed by calling the pharmacy and requesting a refill as normal - if the pharmacy needs approval from the office, they will contact us electronically.

Insurance
We participate with many insurance companies, including:
Medicare, Medicaid, Aetna, BlueCross, Cigna, AvMed, United, Humana, BayCare, It is the patient's responsibility to keep the office informed of the insurance in effect on the day of service. This will avoid, for instance, blood work being sent to the wrong lab and the patient getting the bill.
